The album “Bercheros Odyssey” by bassist and composer Tomáš Liška comprises his large-scale composition of the same name. The piece for a quintet of string and wind instruments consists of six parts influenced by jazz, minimalism, and classical music. It was written as Liška´s diploma composition to conclude his studies at the Jazz Institute in Berlin. Accordingly, the PENTE ensemble mainly consists of German artists who first performed the composition together with its creator in Berlin.
The album was nominated for the “Anděl” Award in the Jazz&Blues category.
