Iluzja
Cellist and vocalist Dorota Barová is well known above all as member of Tara Fuki and Vertigo, two outstanding Czech ensembles with whom she regularly performs on stage and in studio, collaborating on projects which have received numerous prestigious awards. She has also collaborated with foremost Czech vocalists Aneta Langerová and her band and with Lenka Dusilová, in 2008 she appeared in a surprising formation with members of the Slovak band Korben Dallas in a project called Tugriki. “Iluzja” is Barová’s long-expected first solo album. It comprises a collection of new songs by the author, recorded in a chamber line-up with guitarist Miroslav Chyška (Illustratosphere, J.A.R., Sexy Dancers) and bass guitarist Jakub Vejnar (Muff), and featuring pianist Beata Hlavenková in one of the compositions. The work of Dorota Barová, including her album “Iluzja” (Illusion), is a colourful musical mosaic framed by the velvety timbre of the singer’s voice and her characteristic style of composition. The album intrigues with its profound message, intimate atmosphere, sophisticated simplicity and the authentic performance by Dorota Bartová who is an exclusive figure on the Czech music scene.
