Inner Spaces & David Dorůžka: Light Year
Inner Spaces & David Dorůžka

Light Year

The Czech-Polish quintet Inner Spaces was founded by three musical personalities who met as fellow students at the Academy of Music in Katowice, the trumpet player Štěpánka Balcarová, saxophonist Luboš Soukup and pianist Vít Křišťan, who have been joined by two colleagues from Poland, Max Mucha on the bass and Grzegorz Masłowski on the drums. For their second album, they invited the as guest the guitarist David Dorůžka who also contributed one composition created especially for this album. The generous and cultivated sound of the band, beautiful melodic lines, slowly developing improvisations and general thoroughness of composition are some of the hallmarks of Inner Spaces.
The album received the prestigious “Anděl” Award in the Jazz&Blues category in 2012.
