The Green Card Album
The solo album of Ondřej Pivec was recorded in New York where the organist and keyboardist had been living for five years and, as the title suggests, he has decided to stay on. Musically, the album is based on Pivec’s impressive jazz career, even though his new American experience has been apparently shifting his sound in the direction of rhythm-and-blues, gospel and pop. Pivec himself labells the album a “farewell to jazz”. The project is remarkable for its impeccable production and crisp sound and it features performances by a great number of local musicians and singers. The CD presents Pivec in an excellent form as a composer, player, arranger and producer.
