The guitarist Libor Šmoldas recorded his debut album in collaboration with his former schoolmate and colleague from the Organic Quartet, Ondřej Pivec, and with the Polish drummer Lukasz Zyta, a frequent partner of David Dorůžka and Jaromír Honzák. The album contains six original compositions by Šmoldas and – as a tribute to the legacy of traditional jazz – also two standards: ”Valse Hot” by Sonny Rollins and “Just One Of Those Things” by Cole Porter. The playful ease with which the ensemble performs Šmoldas’s music and adapted material chimes with the best traditions of organ trio as a specific formation in the history of world jazz. The generous energy radiating from this music has its roots in Šmoldas’s and Pivec’s common experience in the Organic Quartet.
